Expectancy- Adam's is near
As we begin to move items into our new youth & family building at our Adam's St. Family Campus I am reminded of how much sweeter things taste after waiting. Whether it's that Halloween candy you're waiting to open or a brand new facility- Life is sweeter after waiting. The youth, staff, & volunteers have been waiting for this move to Adam's for years now, however each day that passes before we move has only increased our anticipation of what will be in that space.
Here's why:
1) Gratitude-We as staff work towards developing gratitude in our kids, yes, but we also must first model this important characterstic. We are extremely grateful for what we have! We attempt to steward every donation, every volunteer, & especially every kid that comes our way!
2)Expectancy- What's the difference between expectancy and expectation? you may ask. An expectant heart hopes for the best, but does not assume or depend on it. Whereas a heart that relies on expectation believes that they are entitled to things and can become disappointed or even bitter upon not receiving them.
3) Faith- Faith causes us not to worry because there is a firm belief in God's timing & plan. As we plan & prepare to meet the needs of more than 100 youth with teen programs, elementary programs, mentoring, & more- we must submit it all to our faith in a God that knows what He's doing!
