Volunteer to Keep Kids From Being Homeless (Rescue Mission)

rescue mission volunteerWith the opening of the Rescue Missions new Adams St. Family Campus communities throughout Pierce County have a resource that will provide housing, supportive services, and more to homeless children and their families.  Serving 36 families each night, the campus is a giant first step toward meeting the big goal of the Rescue Mission: No Child Sleeping On the Streets of Pierce County.

Without a doubt, that's a huge goal, but one that can be accomplished with the help of people just like yourself.  It all boils down to being a part of the solution.  The easiest way to get a passion for keeping kids from the street is to volunteer some time, even just a few hours, to help feed, tutor or just plain serve the homeless families and children of Pierce County at the Adams St. Family Campus.

There are many ways to use your talents and gifts to help homeless children.  What are you great at? What are you passionate about?  What do you love to teach?  Can you read to child?  Can you rock a baby to sleep?  Can you help serve food and prepare meals?  Would you love to read a book at story time?  These are just a few ideas to spark your imagination and to get you motivated to dream what could be possible.

It's possible that the meaning and value you've been looking for in life isn't to be found in finding more ways to create comfort and ease for yourself, but in serving others.  Volunteering the gifts and talents you have to help make the life of a homeless child better.

Can you take a few minutes, it's less than 5, to fill out a volunteer form online and get plugged into something beautiful?  Just click here and get started.

With the Ribbon Cutting tomorrow, we're just days away from needing your help to serve those great, beautiful young children.

How are you interested in serving the children at Adams St? Leave your ideas and comments and I'll be sure to respond.

This is a great post, David. Might be your best yet... a picture, your organization name promoted (like it should be) to the world. Love your work. Keep it up.
